Happy Independence Day

Happy Belated Independence Day!

It was "cold" (yeah, I know, but it's all relative, and it really was jeans, sweatshirt and multiple blankets-needed cold!), foggy and windy here by the ocean. Fireworks could hardly be seen because of the cloud cover.

The rest of the weekend was lovely and sunny and summery. Hope you all enjoyed your celebrations!

Remember when we all would get together to go to that fourth of july festival in Porter (and for a while before that, Dogwood Park)?

So, what's going on this summer?

I heard from Lisa that she recently had back surgery and is feeling much better. Kel, thanks for the card! Lis, I owe you a call. Schmer, congrats congrats on your great news - why don't you post it?! Now aren't you all curious? POST!

Of course I'm curious!! C'mon Schmer!! Let us in on it!

I remember the fair--it was so cool. Walking around and running into everyone you knew. My dad seemed to have an endless suply of quarters for the games--yeah, they were only a quarter! I remember throwing the balls at those ugly cat pupets and always losing. Oh, and trying to knock over the milk bottles. I usually won a pop tossing a ring around a pop bottle. And I usually won a goldfish tossing a ping pong ball into a bowl--my favorite fair game.

We had a great fourth, too. We went to Michigan to visit some family and went boating. It was 85 degrees and beautiful. The lake was like bath water.

Chuck and I are doing a lot of camping this summer. We're also breaking ground on our new house next week, and hope to have it done by thanksgiving-ish. We'll be ~ 20 minutes outside of Kokomo in Bringhurst (just a speck on the map--maybe a town of 420 people--and we thought Chesterton was small!!)

Football is going well. I am the center--I hike the ball to the QB. I have lots of new bruises---love taps, really--but I love it.

I'm planing on having surgery this fall (after football, of course)--to have some extra skin removed---ewww....My arms are exceptionally flabby--unnaturally wobbly...and I have a lot of extra stuff around my stomach (hips and rear end) that needs to go, too. Man, I am going to be so hot for Christmas!

*Robin--I suck. I need to call you, babe. I've had your number, but no cell phone, then I had the phone, and lost the number. I just suck.

Love you all--really.

Ok, so what ever happened to all of those goldfish? 'Cause I seem to remember winning one of those, too. As I recall, Di, you were really good at the ring toss thing.
Robin, wasn't it you who loved the squirt gun at the target game?

Congrats on the news house! Sounds exciting, though a lot of work. I have to admit, after living in cities pretty much since I left Chesterton, I can't even imagine living in a town of 420... I think I might go nuts! (But I do understand the appeal).

As for football - you go, grrrrl!
