Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Just checking in. I know it's a busy month but the blog is awfully quiet.

It's "cold" and rainy in L.A. (Perfect for the holidays because it seems strange to me if it's 80 during Christmas.) Of course, our cold is nothing compared to all that snow you guys are getting in the midwest and northeast, but it's all relative, right? It gets down into the 40s at night. I hear Northern Indiana got 12 inches of snow last night - yikes! Robin, are you guys digging out ok?

John and I are picking out our Christmas tree this weekend and decorating the house. I have four or five dozen christmas cookies to make for the office for a cookie drive, and presents yet to buy. Then we've got a screening with friends of "King Kong" on Monday and then "Narnia" on Thursday. (One of the best benefits of living near Hollywood - free early screenings!)

Lots of running around, but mostly fun stuff. Hope you're all well and enjoying the season!

My sister, Lynda, saw Narnia with her 87 1/2 year old son and they both loved it. I can't wait for King Kong to come out on DVD myself.

We got 7 inches here in Bringhurst. The big difference between Bringhurst and NW indiana is in NW indiana 6 flakes of snow fall and there are three plows hovering. In Bringhurst/Kokomo area 6 inches of snow fall and not a plow in sight. I miss the efficiency of NWIN snow removal... Now that Chuck and I live way out in the country we are secretly hoping to get snowed in at least once this winter on a weekday. How awesome to be a grown-up and have a snow day!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that still sniffs around the blog. Miss all you guys and I'm looking forward to another reunion in the near future.

Merry Christmas (yeah, I still say Merry Christmas!),

I mean 7 1/2 year old son....stupid slow moving old fingers.....getting older by the minute, too (birthday was on Sunday....I'm still the baby, right? I turned 34....well, 29 for the 6th time actually).

Still sniffing around the blog myself, Di - you're not alone.

Hell, I'm only one county south of the river and there is no such thing as efficient snow removal. It's reserved for Lake, Porter, LaPorte, and St. Joe counties, I think. Here in Newton, my son has more snow days...Chesterton School Corp would laugh at us. But our high school is literally in the middle of a corn field, and all roads leading in drift over like you wouldn't believe. Hell, my driveway had waist-high drifts after our snows last week. Miss that Melissa?

At least there is sledding and ice skating to be done...and a white Christmas. good times.

Waist high snow drifts... ah, fond memories. LOL.

Rebecca, I've been to that school for speech and debate meets (and plus my grandma is from Brook, Ind.) and you are right, it is in the middle of nothing but a cornfield... but what fun snow days are! Tell your kids to enjoy 'em while they can.

It was 80 here ih LA today - very un-christmasy! Looks like John and I will be going to the beach on Christmas day to ride our bikes with the rest of our Chicago-transplant friends. I still can't get used to it!
